2019 New England Section Annual Meeting – December 2nd, 2019



Why is the Annual Meeting in Worcester, I thought it was held in Warwick?

Based on a survey this past spring of the NEITE membership, the Annual Meeting Committee has strived to develop a new meeting in keeping with organization goals. The new location is more central to the membership and at the crossroads of New England, with access to multiple transportation options.

Does the conference have a hotel or room Block?

No, there is no formal block. However, The Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and The AC Marriot are all within two blocks of the DCU Center.

Where do I park and does it cost anything?

Parking is available at the Major Taylor Blvd. Garage. for a reduced rate of $8/day

What are the other transportation options for attending the meeting?

Union Station is a quarter mile/5-minute walk to the DCU Center.
The MBTA Framingham / Worcester Line runs from 4:40 AM to 1:51 AM (M-F). There are departures from South Station every ~85 minutes during off-peak hours 7:30 – 11:55 AM and departures from Worcester in the evening at 7:20, 8:30, 9:00, and 9:35 PM. Please see MBTA schedule here.
There are also intercity bus lines of Peter Pan and Greyhound to/from Boston, Hartford, New Haven, and Providence.

What is new about the meeting this year?

  • Training Lite Track (2 hours)
  • Networking Hour with engaging new group team building competition activity, Fastcar similar to a pinewood derby
  • New Annual Awards Presentation

Are there sponsorship opportunities for the meeting?

Will there be all-day training or PDH opportunities?

New this year will be lite training track for those who want training but can’t commit a whole day. Technical sessions will also provide professional development credit. A total of 4 PDHs are available.

Will there be a social networking hour?

Yes, the meeting will have a networking period with an optional new teambuilding competition adjacent to the cocktail area.
